Ego is Your Enemy

For the past year I've been working on distancing myself from my ego. It still proves to be one of the hardest tasks I've had to face, and still continue to face. How do you separate yourself from something you've identified with for so long?

Ego uses fear and doubt to keep you in place, as well as false validation.

Think about it. Is there anything you have that gives you an immense feeling of validity? If that one thing were to be taken away would you feel as though you lost a part of who you are? I answer yes to both those questions and that's a problem for me.

The issue isn't having things, but more so the identification with them. At any point in time these things can be stripped away. What would you have then? A question for the undeniable self.

Michael Kiwanuka said it best, "You can't steal the things that God has given me." I promise you that's nothing material.

Ego is the enemy. Food for thought!
