A Child Taught Me

Today I went for a walk and met Flash. No that’s not his real name, but that's how he introduced himself to me. So Flash it is. 4 years old and faster than the speed of light. That’s what he believed as he demonstrated to me with his head straight forward and his arms moving quicker than the rest of his body. Imagination in full effect, or maybe he really believed he was Flash. Who am I to tell him anything different?

We're always trying to teach kids something, but it's Flash who taught me today. Be who you want to be with the passion and belief he had. He'll come to an age where he realizes that physically it's impossible to be Flash. Hopefully he comes to that realization himself and his imagination isn’t cut short by some non-imaginative adult. But if he keeps that kind of imagination he'll be able to implement that passion into the real world and become someone great. Thank you Flash!
